Japan’s Floating Solar Power Saves Valuable Space on Land
It saves over 8000 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide a year, nearly half are in Hyogo. Which has agriculture reservoirs and provides plenty of space for the panels. The most beneficial thing is that these floating solars save valuable space on the land. By putting solar panels on lakes, reservoirs, and dams, solar panels are 16% more efficient than land-based ones. Due to the cooling effect of the water and are easier to the grid than remote wind farms, they also prevent evaporating, saving freshwater supply in reservoirs. Moreover, it can stop the growth of algae that is harming fish stocks. The global output from floating panels grew 100 fold between 2014 and 2018. It is turning unproductive ponds into valuable assets. Furthermore, it helps to reduce the emissions that are causing global warming.
