WhatsApp Set New Record During Socially Distanced New Year’s Eve
Facebook has published an infographic on the first day of 2021. Facebook announced how people celebrated it using its apps: WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.
Among these apps, WhatsApp has made the most ever calls in a single day globally. Moreover, it is a 50% increase as compared to the same day last year. As far as Messenger goes, New Year’s Eve 2020 was the biggest day ever for Messenger group video calls in the United States. There were nearly twice more group video calls on New Year’s Eve compared to the average day. Similarly, there were more than 55 million live broadcasts across Facebook and Instagram globally.
